This photo was taken on June 3, 2014. Deep in contemplation. I was technically on vacation. I was actually using up vacation time before my employment was terminated in a mass layoff. I had hopes and ideas for future jobs – none of which came true. It would take almost a year to discover where I fit in with the current job market – I started my new job on June 8, 2015.

I have a big birthday coming up. Like, the kind that ends with a zero. One of the most amazing, giving, spirited people that I know died on Tuesday. So I find myself deep in contemplation again. Unsure of what 2016 holds for me. Trying to live a life of kindness in a world gone crazy.
